Day Before Breakfast

1 lb. sausage, ham or bacon cooked and drained
2 c. grated sharp cheese, or Jack, something zippy
6 slices of bread, I use Texas Toast (cut off the crust) reserve pieces, can use wheat bread
8 eggs
2 c. milk (may need a little more, this needs to saturate the bread)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Lightly grease a 9x13 or slightly larger pan. Cut crust off, lay squared bread flat on pan.  Place cut pieces on top, making another layer.  Sprinkle cheese, then add cooked meat.  Beat eggs and milk together with 1/2 t pepper  Pour milk mixer over bread, cheese and meat, leave in fridge over night.  Spread on can of mushroom soup prior to baking.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes plus.  Put cookie sheet on rack below to catch over flow (it could bake over).
